The
Italian national team on a training session in Valle dAosta.
27 Italian national team athletes have been summoned for a
collective training session a month before the beginning of the world championship.
The benning
date of the Rollerski world championship scheduled from August 27th to September 1st on
Cervino Mount is drawing near and the Italian athletes refine their technique with a
collective training session on the tracks which within a month will host the world
championship races. Starting from tonight, July 26th until Sunday, July 28th, the Italian
Rollerski national team is on a training session to check the physical condition of its
best athletes. The athletes who have been summoned by Pierluigi Papa, the Italian team
trainer from Bologna, who starting from this season has been also appointed as federal
technical director, are 15 men and 12 women coming from 7 Italian regions representing 12
sporting clubs and associations which deal with Rollerski.
Among women there are Martina Rigoni and Barbara Sartor from the historic association C.S.
Bassano, last year Rollerski world cup winner Viviana Druidi from C.S. Forestale, the
young Ombretta Rosa from CE.D.A.S. FIAT, Kezia
D'incal, trainer Danieles daughter, from G.S. VVFF Belluno, from Bergano province,
Erika Bettineschi from S.C. Angrogna together with Susy Pascal and Ester Ribolzi, Agnese
Frigerio from S.C. Lissone, the very strong Mateja Bogatec and Mateja Paulina from S.D
Mladina association and Giada Grivon the home athlete from S.C.C.M. Monte Cervino.
The men list starts with the
national forest group athletes, the multi-medallist Alfio di Gregorio and the 2001 world
cup winner Alberto Pertile, followed by Mirco Collavo from S.C. Gatto Delle Nevi and Omar
Peruzzo from C.S. Bassano, with his team mates Roberto Ferracin and Emanuele Sbabo. From
A.P. Tolmezzo, Pietro Filippin and Oscar Romanin, together with Andrea Stella from G.S.
Caleppiovinil and 3 athletes from S.C. Angrogna, Eugenio Bianchi, Simone Butti and Simone
Paredi. Stefano Cordoni from S.C. La Neve, Eros Sullini from S.D Mladina and Jules Pession
from S.C.C.M. Monte Cervino close the list.
The training session program includes
trials on Antey Saint André tracks (classical technique race prologue) and Chantillon
track (sprint race) on Saturday morning, while in the afternoon the athletes will move to
Saint Vincent for a trial on the Teamrace race track. On Sunday, they will check the
pursuit race track in Breuil Cervinia.
The Athletes will stay at Cervino village in
Antey St. André in Buisson.
