Le decisioni di Miami: I mondiali a Inzell e all'Alpe d'Huez la prova di Jablonec

Erano presenti solamente i rappresentanti della Nuova Zelanda e dell'Olanda all'incontro di Miami che doveva decidere anche dell'assegnazione dei Campionati Mondiali 2004 dopo la rinuncia della località tedesca di St. Wendel.
In questa sede è stata scelta la località tedesca di Inzell per l'organizzazione del World Championships Rollerski 2004, ed anche se mancano solo due mesi e mezzo all'inizio del più l'importate evento del rolleski internazionale, gli organizzatori assicurano che faranno tutto il possibile per garantire una buona riuscita della manifestazione.
Si è anche deciso di accettare la candidatura della Francia per recuperare la seconda prova di Coppa del Mondo, dopo la rinuncia di Jablonec (CZ). Le gare si disputeranno all'Alpe d'Huez nei giorni 10-11 luglio 2004, dove saranno previste gara in salita ed una prova sprint. Anche in questo caso seguiranno altre informazioni.

  Miami decisions

Miami was hot, in temperature and for the rollerski sport.
The committee made a no-show. Only New Zealand and the Netherlands were present.
This was not the only loss for rollerski. The German Ski Federation will organize the World Championships in Inzell, even if they have only 2,5 months to do it properly. A proposal from the jury, which was appointed in the meeting of the sub-committee of 1 May 2003, to delay the World Championships with one year, did not make it.
There will be a new jury for the World Championships. The final decision is up to the FIS council, so more news will follow.
On the other hand, France seems willing to overtake the World Cup of Jablonec: the races will be in Alpe d'Huez in the weekend of July 10-11. An uphill race and a sprint race. The final decision will be made this week. So also here, more news will follow.
The calendar for next year, the following years and the World Championships and the proposals for the restructuring of the sub-committee could not be discussed due to the low number of sub-committee members.
In 2005 the races in Cesis, Latvia and Moscow, Russia are sure. The Scandinavian neigbors Denmark and Sweden will do their best to host the European Championships. They will report shortly.
