The
coming 17-19 September "Rollissima" reaches its third
edition, Mount Cimone this year hosting the final leg of Rollerski World Cup 2004. The
three days of racing will benefit from the expected participation of fourteen national
teams from all over Europe. The event follows at a distance of three weeks the World
Championships scheduled for St. Wendel in Germany and so will be a festive occasion for
the newly-crowned champions in the discipline.
Every evening the awards presentation and
general partying will be held at the Palaghiaccio building in Fanano, whereas the
official race office can be found in Sestola at the new sports hall.
The new element for 2004, and one which we believe will be warmly welcomed by the numerous
participants at the event, does not regard the World Cup but the amateur long distance
race, the enrolment fee having been slashed in price from the 12 Euro of the two previous
editions to 5 Euro for this years competition.
A pleasant surprise for all participants!
The organizing committee wishes to thank you for your support without which the previous
two editions would not have been such a success.
Other news includes the awards presentation which will be held daily from 13.00 at the Palaghiaccio
building in Fanano, where you will also find refreshments such as
tigelle and crescentine, typical local specialities of the Modena
area.
So, after the World Championships in Cervinia, the World Cup is back in Italy again with a
three day event not only of great sporting competition but also of fun and friendship
amongst fellow enthusiasts of the sport.
The programme is the following:
Thursday 16th
September: Arrival of team members and Opening Ceremony
Friday 17th September:
"Double Pursuit" (line start, classic technique, change of equipment at
halfway stage, second half of race freestyle)
Saturday 18th
